Your towel has been screenprinted with an environmentally friendly water-based ink.  If you take care of your towel, it will be your friend for a long, long time.  Just like with a new pair of jeans, it is normal for excess ink to come out of the towel during the rinse cycle.  Wash this towel separately in cold water before using!  Do not rub the screenprinted area of the towel!
